We were warmly received by Lynn, Reservations Manager and Karin, Sales Director before being swept off on a whirlwind site inspection of the latest hospitality
collective to grace Franschhoek Valley, The Leeu Collection.
Leeu Collection (in Sanskrit Singh means lion, which is leeu in Afrikaans)currently comprises three five-star boutique properties:
Leeu Estates, a 17-room luxurious hotel and winery in the Franschhoek valley (opening 2016); Leeu House, an exclusive and private 12-room hotel and Le Quartier Français, a romantic 21-room hotel both in the heart of Franschhoek village.
Walking through each pristine property was such a delight - everyone we met was happy and engaging. Every detail had been thought through...from the location of the mini-bar to the muted shades of the restful palette in the rooms. Le Quartier Francais is an icon of the village and will be receiving some tender care administered lovingly by the Leeu Collection design and decor team later this year.
The new hot spot, Tuk Tuk Microbrewery was to be our journey's end...we couldn't wait! We were served deliciously spicy Mexican tapas which paired brilliantly with the CBC craft beers. This is the place to be for hip and happening vibes in the village.
