CEO & Founder

Sussi Galley

Having grown up in Sweden with a Swedish father and English mother, I didn’t have my first introduction to Africa until 1989 when I visited Zimbabwe. That was ‘it’ for me and after ten years running Livingstone Safaris in Zimbabwe, I moved to Cape Town in 2000.  I was genuinely bitten by the “Africa Bug” and want to share this experience. I am passionate about the African bush, the wild animals and, most important of all, about hospitality and people. My daily challenge is to perfect the art of preparing highly personalized travel plans. Each itinerary is an individual; a personal creation and a genuine expression of my own exploration of African travel and adventure. I love interacting with my clients and taking them on a journey of discovery with every Inspired Journey we plan together, with my aim to bring to others the pleasures of the safaris that I have been privileged to enjoy. I love receiving feedback from my clients once they have travelled – good or bad… there is always an opportunity to learn. One of my ‘insider-track’ tips for your travels in Africa is to always pack 10% less than you think you need, leaving room to buy an item or two at your destination. It is so lovely to return home with items of clothing you can wear. They are a reminder of your Inspired Journeys, Timeless Moments spent in Africa

A Capetonian by birth and totally proudly South African, I have been in the hospitality industry since 1982 (I started when I was fifteen years old!) and have always enjoyed a challenge. During my time as a personal assistant to a Managing Director of a successful publishing company, I felt the hospitality bug bite, and I joined the exciting tourism industry using my organizational skills to help run the nicely busy Livingstone Safaris office. My focus is on all things operational which enables the Inspired Journey Experts to focus on the dream weaving process, resulting in beautifully crafted itineraries that show off just how exquisite Africa is!

I grew up in Nelspruit where I spent a lot of my childhood visiting the Kruger National Park and this is where my passion for wildlife first started. Family holidays were spent exploring the bush and road tripping throughout South Africa. After graduating from University, I spent the first part of my career working in luxury safari lodges in the Kruger and Kalahari where I met guests from all over the world and experienced first-hand how Africa grabs a hold of your soul and continues to tempt you back. Breaks away from work offered me the incredible opportunity to travel and explore Southern Africa extensively and adventurously in a 4×4 and rooftop tent before ultimately choosing Cape Town as my home. My love of travel and my passion for Africa crafted the path to Livingstone Safaris where I’m given the opportunity to tempt travellers to Africa, to share this amazing continent and all the best it has to offer and ensuring that they leave not only with timeless memories that have exceeded their every expectation, but also, a yearning to return.

Having grown up on a farm in Zimbabwe, I have had the pleasure of living the ‘African Life’ exploring Southern Africa from a young age. I have always had a passion for people and entertainment which led me to studying hospitality and events in Switzerland. After graduating I couldn’t wait to get back to my home in Africa, and decided to start a new adventure in Cape Town, South Africa where I joined Livingstone Safaris. I have been incredibly fortunate to have been afforded so many amazing opportunities to discover the beauty of our continent. When on safari, I love to be able to get out of the vehicle for a different perspective. I am passionate about my photography, I love meeting people from all different walks of life who are equally passionate about the bush, and being able to sit around a campfire and share stories about our travel experiences is a perfect way to end the day when on safari! It’s not just about the safari for me though; I am a qualified scuba diver and love beach holidays.

With my deeply rooted love for South Africa where I was raised, I can’t help but share my passion for Africa with every person who has the desire to travel here. I’ve worked in inbound travel for over 25 years, and joined the Inspired Journey Expert team at Livingstone Safaris in 2016, experienced and ready to design bespoke travel itineraries to places on everyone’s Africa bucket list. I love that I’m surrounded by like-minded colleagues who share a wealth of knowledge and personal travel experiences daily, and I’m extremely grateful for the endless opportunities I am given to visit the incredible products that we share with our clients. Some of the best travel moments I have enjoyed since joining Livingstone Safaris include catching Tiger fish in the Zambezi River, flying over Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe in a helicopter, sipping on a cocktail while standing with my feet in the water in the Okavango Delta, and quietly sitting down-wind from a herd of buffalo on a walking safari in Hwange National Park.

My top tip for travel to Africa would be to make a conscious effort to get to know the warm and proud people of the country you are visiting. They love sharing their stories and knowledge, which will add that extra flavour to your African experience.

Debtors Controller

Natalie Enfield

I joined Livingstone Safaris on a temporary assignment in April 2008. I was not expecting to stay for longer than 3 months, but I am thrilled to still be a part of the LivSaf Family. Thanks to the encouragement from Sussi, an extremely successful entrepreneur, I have settled into the role of Debtor Controller, where my analytical side is put to good use every day. The flexibility and ever-changing industry stimulates and challenges me. Through my journey here I’ve been given the most incredible opportunities: To travel on safari to the Kruger, the Kalahari and to Zimbabwe, and even take my family to Mauritius for the most memorable beach holiday when I celebrated my 10 year anniversary with Livingstone Safaris. My soul is constantly awakened to the exciting world that is the travel industry, and I truly love what I do. I am so grateful for these experiences and I look forward embracing all new encounters on my continual journey with Livingstone Safaris..
