A highlight of our trip was going on a search for the desert adapted elephants. We drove along wide dried up river beds, which is a perfect area for desert
elephant, spotting the herd and watching them was an amazing experience. So often on safari we see elephants frivolously and playfully splashing water
about to cool off and to drink to their heart's content, however these African elephant have learnt to respect and conserve the small amount of water
that is available to them.
Other activities that we got to enjoy included quad biking in the dunes, a hike up Big Daddy Dune, a visit to Dead Vlei, the petrified dunes and a canyon, a bushman walk focusing on the smaller species and plants, and of course sunrise and sunset safari drives accompanied by coffee or drinks in the most beautiful locations.
Namibia is like no other country we have ever visited in Africa. We felt as we drove from Windhoek to Sossusvlei to Swakopmund to Damaraland to Etosha, that we crossed borders into different countries – that’s how diverse this magical country is.
